Recap — Summer 2020 Bucket List

Hi there everyone!

It’s mid-winter here already and I’m somehow still recapping my summer for you? Whack, I know, but that’s how things are sometimes. Let’s cross of bucket list items in a fun way by showing you photos!

But first, let’s start with a short list of things I didn’t get to do:

  • Find a lighthouse
  • Paint along with Bob Ross
  • Trillium Lake
  • Crater Lake
  • Have a picnic at a park
  • In-n-Out in Keizer, OR (crossed this off over the weekend, lol!)
  • Drive-in movie
  • Bonneville Dam
  • Read more / catch up on my reading challenge

Now let’s go through what I did:

Go Hiking

We went hiking several times, but this day was one of my favorites because we got together with my very good friend, Jessica. It was so fun having the kids run around together. So heart-warming. 🙂

Bridge of the Gods & Eastwind Drive-in

Got two in one go 🙂
Read about both here and here (Eastwind).

Here’s a 3-for-1:

  1. BBQ w/family or friends
  2. Get together with family and friends (safely)
  3. Bonfire / Fire pit

Unfortunately I do not have pictures for any of these bucket list items because I was so caught up in the moment of not seeing everyone for weeks, so I just wanted to soak it all in and enjoy their company! ❤

Go to the Beach

Went to Cannon Beach. Was foggy but fun. See more photos here.

Silver Falls State Park

Got to cruise with more Subaru owners.
A fun and social-distancing BBQ.

Dye my hair again

I dyed my hair green last summer, but unfortunately I didn’t let it process enough for it to be as vibrant as the blue from the year before. I will be dyeing my hair soon again, hopefully it turns out looking good.

Road Trip / Day Trip

Technically Bridge of the Gods, Cannon Beach, and Silver Falls State Park all fall under this umbrella of day trips, so you can say I accomplished this BL item x3, plus an extra time when we went to a bonus destination:

This was a bonus because this wasn’t planned. I came across this place on Instagram, thanks to a local, Portland artist, Mike Bennett, who visited earlier in the year. Naturally, I made it my mission to see it too. 🙂

See more photos here.

Drive manual car

This is the final BL item you guys!! I cannot believe your girl actually did it! I finally got better at driving a manual car and I love it so much. I’ve been driving this baby, an MX-5, and I have been going on joy rides at night (after work) to practice more.

Despite 2020 being a terrible year for us all, it was still great to look back at things we were able to do. It made me realize that I got to accomplish many things and that is always something worth noting.

Is there anything you can think of that you accomplished or had fun doing in 2020?
