Ashton Gardens at Thanksgiving Point — Utah Vacation Part 1

Hello everyone!

Here I am FINALLY recapping our Utah trip from last year here on the blog. I did recap it on my Instagram feed, but didn’t really go into depth as much and it was also tough to choose a few pictures out of all the ones I have. We were there for about 3 ish days, though I don’t count the first day as we were flying over there and got there a bit late in the night. So I’ll show a few pictures during our flight and when we landed, etc.

Day 1: Travel

We flew out of Portland a bit late, as we were waiting for Alex to get out of work. As always, CL was excited to be going on an airplane. The sights and the sunset on the flight were amazing. This time I didn’t get as much anxiety on the plane, lol, so it was a great flight. Alex and I watched Wall-E on our screens and CL chose to watch Finding Nemo. It was the cutest thing ever.

When we landed, we went to pick up our car. Last time I was in Utah, Alex hadn’t come with me, so I was extra excited to have him there to share all the sights I had seen when I was there years prior. Look at that mountain range in the distance! The sky was beautiful too!

Of course we made a pit-stop to get food because we still had to drive an hour out to my mom’s house, so we stopped at In-N-Out! Alex had In-N-Out for the first time in Vegas, and though at first he was skeptical, he had to admit he liked it LOL.

Also yes, that is a tattoo on my wrist. Alex and I got matching tattoos and I can’t wait to get more!

But now let’s jump into….

Day 2: Ashton Gardens at Thanksgiving Point

Secret Garden

We spent most of our day at the gardens in Lehi because we slept in after arriving late. Luckily it wasn’t too far from my mom’s place. I was surprised at the amount of things to do there near her. The whole day was fun and peaceful too, and I thoroughly enjoyed doing this with my mom and sis as well because they hadn’t been here.

When I made plans for this, I didn’t realize how big this place was and how much time it would take us to go through it all. The whole garden is two miles of brick pathways and it connects 15 gardens, lawns and waterfalls, but we were stopping at every single one taking *many* pictures. So many that I have to choose only the best to show you here.

Honestly, visiting this place is something I recommend doing if you’re ever near Lehi as they hold different kinds of events at the gardens throughout the year. It’s absolutely beautiful.

So without further ado, let me shut up and show you lots of photos.
And, shout-out to my husband because he took some great pictures of me too! 😀

Peacock – Lego Exhibition

They had a cool lego exhibition throughout the gardens, it was cool to come across these sculptures. They all had facts about how long it took and how many legos they used.

After we left the gardens, we started heading back home but we stopped on the side of the road because I wanted to take a picture of the mountains. It was a lovely sight.

At home we ate some delicious food. We made tacos at home outside because it was a really hot day, and we had a few drinks while CL and my sis jumped into the pool. My mom’s dog, Lily, was being so cute I had to take a picture of her, and CL’s pool gear made me chuckle when he posed.

Overall it was a great day and I can’t wait to share the rest of my trip with you next week. 🙂
